“Do you see that girl in that picture?” Jon asked as he pointed to a rustic looking photo on the wall in their apartment building right outside of their front door. “That’s my grandmother. It’s my family’s apartment building.” He said as we walked down the stairs. I was in awe. Chevi and Jon, the next generation, was living in his family’s apartment building and it was exactly where they should be. Starting their lives together, surrounded by family and heritage.
It was the perfect Sunday afternoon. The birds were chirping, the sky was clear and the crisp winter air no longer stung our skin as we walked around Carl Shruz Park. I literally couldn’t be happier.
From the moment I met Chevi and Jon, I knew that they were amazing together. The sweet tender looks they share and the way they respect each other, makes it clear to me that they are one heck of a match. Chevi and Jon were best friends first. Literally, since high school. They spent years checking in, messaging and keeping their friendship alive over long distance. Finally, when they were living in the same city, they decided to take the leap of faith and go for it. They never looked back.
Relationships like Chevi and Jon’s are incredible to witness. It’s like finding a four leaf clover. The joy and happiness that they share is electric. The way Chevi and Jon laugh and understand one another is so unique and aspirational and I get butterflies just looking at their photos!
As we walked around the park, stopping to pose, I could feel the love that Chevi has for Jon. It’s in every moment they share and every time she went to hold his hand. Whenever Jon looks at Chevi, it is as if he is falling in love all over again. I see it in the gentle way he smiles at her and the way he wraps his arms around her. There is no other place he would rather be but with Chevi and isn’t that what love is all about? Meeting that one person you want to spend every day with loving, holding and cherishing?
Thank you Chevi and Jon, for being the beautiful couple you are. I couldn’t be more excited to witness and capture your wedding day! June cannot come soon enough!
