I like to say I have two passions in life
For me, the two of them go hand in hand.
Photography is the best way I can serve people. The best way I know how to love the amazing humans that enter into my
world and bring me so much joy and happiness. The best way I know how to live a life full of purpose, creativity and love.
I don't have that typical Photographer story. I didn’t pick up a camera when I was five years old, in high school or even in under grad. I didn’t even know how to turn on a DSLR until I was 22 and looking for a hobby to distract me from my PR job that just wasn’t for me.
From the moment I stepped into that one hour photography class in DC, I knew that my life was changed forever. I knew that being a photographer was who I was meant to be. Capturing moments was how I was meant to live. Loving my clients was what I was meant to do.
After I decided what I wanted to do with my life, I needed to figure out how to get there. Like any good 20 something year old woman, I turned to Google. Searching things like "How to become a photographer" and "Best way to learn photography quickly." Soon enough, I found my answer... Hallmark Institute of Photography in Western Massachusetts.
Before I knew it. I was packing up my KIA SOUL, hugging Robert goodbye and heading to Millers Falls, MA for ten months.
Ten months of nothing but photography.
Ten months of studying lights, building my portfolio and learning everything I could about starting a business.
Ten months of realizing that it wasn't just a whim, it was my passion.
I did it!
I graduated from Hallmark Institute of Photography in the top ten percent of my class and was ready to take the world by storm.
I was ready for my dreams to come true. I did the work. I wrote the business plans. I spent months falling in love with photography more and more each and every day. Don't even get me started on how excited I was to finally live in the same city as Robert!
The morning after graduating from Hallmark, I was back in my KIA SOUL, headed down to Philadelphia excited to start the next part of my journey.
